Prayer Request

I have been really down about not hearing from any of the school systems that I have applied at. Friends that I went through my Career Switcher program with were getting contracts yet I was not even getting calls for interviews.

Today, I received a call from my Alma Mater. It is for a Business Teacher position. I have an interview Monday at 4.

I am stoked.
I am nervous.

I somewhat know the lead teacher I am interviewing with. I subbed for her a few times and I talked to her briefly a few times. So I hope that is a good sign.

Please pray for me as I prepare for this interview this weekend. This is the first time I have ever interviewed for a teaching position. Please pray that I will have the right words to say.

This job would be perfect. It is the city I wanted, it is not far from home. I have subbed there and I went there. I am sooo nervous though.

Have I mentioned that I really NEED this job? Pray , pray, pray.

Can't totally blame me....

Nope... can't totally blame me for when my new keyboard plays out. Nope, can't take all the blame. He does this if I decide to read the paper in the morning too. He lays right across the newspaper. Do you think he is a tad jealous?
Actually, he started laying across the keyboard because I have a habit of taking my pony tail down at the computer and leaving my black rubber bands in a pile. A few hundred posts ago I wrote about his fascination with my black hair bands. He thinks they are all his. He hides them and brings them out occasionally wanting to play fetch with them. The only problem, I started off with 24 of them now I have three. Have to find his stash soon.

I'm back....

I know I have been missing for a few days. Not because the family drama has slowed down, well the aide is gone for good so that has slowed. The reason is because I am a klutz....

My old keyboard had a glass of water spilled on it. Most of it worked but the most common keys did not. I threw it away because I knew I had a back-up keyboard that was brand new and from a bargain store. I got it as a set with a mouse and ergonomic mouse pad about six months ago when my mouse died. I stored the keyboard just for this day.

Fine and dandy, unfortunately when I exchanged them the new keyboard worked but eight keys did not. Do you remember typing class? ASDF JKL: . yep those refused to work. Today I went to Target, all they had were wireless keyboards, my old computer would not have been happy. I then traveled to Big Lots and they had a simple keyboard for $6. I received 20% off then an additional 20% for friends and family day. So my new keyboard was a whopping $4. Go me and it works.

Maybe I should have bought more than one at that price. Then again with my luck with storing keyboards it is best I did not.

Oh by the way , I have been using my mini-laptop so I have been reading blogs but my fingers are too big to type anything on that keyboard. I also discovered my eyes are old and that small screen is real small. REAL SMALL.

Does it count as a goal?

I blogged about my goal of doing something I have procrastinated each day. Well I left out that I would do this on the days I was not in charge of my nephew. Today was one of those days. We have him from 7 am-5 pm, when we have him. He left at 5:15 and came back at 8:30, he wanted to spend the night.

After he left at 5:15, I cooked dinner. Then I was going to mow the weeds. Only the weeds need cutting, not the lawn. Let's be truthful, we don't have a lawn, just weeds. I call it my weed garden. We have had very little rain here lately. It has threatened and spit a little but no rain. The ground is dry, what grass there was is now brown and crunches when you walk. But the weeds, oh the dandelion weeds they are growing strong with a vengeance.

That was my goal, to either cut them, spray them or pull them. We decided to pull them. We pulled and pulled and pulled and pulled. Do you think we finished? No, that was only half the yard. I already have a blister on one of my fingers too.

So my question is... Does this count towards my goal? It happened on a day I said I would not try to accomplish it plus it is only half finished. Although on the other side, it was a task I had procrastinated, it is half done which means I am ahead of my goals, maybe I should count it.

Any thoughts?

I accomplished something...

I have made a goal... While I am home praying and hoping on phone calls for jobs that I am going to accomplish a task each day that I have procrastinated. It may be big, it may be small but it will be something.

Today I tackled a big, tall stack of bills that I have shoved in a corner for two years. Most were old and yes I had paid most of them. I just shoved it all in the corner, envelopes and all. I tackled it today. I feel good and it took hours. They are now in my paperwork binder all in groups according to who they were.

Be proud of me.

Oh, I also went and spent three hours with my grandfather. I listened to him fuss, preach and cry. More fussing and preaching then crying though. He did ask me at the end why he is still here when he wants to be with my grandmother and Jesus. I told him that his chores were not done and that God wasn't finished with him yet. He did not like that answer. I then told him that my grandmother was not finished cleaning his house in Heaven yet. He just laughed. She was always seeing to it that he was taken care of and probably still is.

It was delicious....

I read another person's blog locally. I would give credit but I forgot who it was. It was for crock pot macaroni and cheese. As usual I looked at it and did my own thing. Let me tell you , it was delicious.

If you know me, you know I don't follow things to exact measurements, so here goes.

Becky's Crock pot Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

One box uncooked macaroni (I used the one with extra fiber) (14 oz)
Shredded cheese ( depends on your taste) I used about two an half cups
1/2 cup butter or margarine, chopped
pinch of onion salt
pepper
milk

Spray crock pot with non-stick spray. Add macaroni, cheese, butter, salt and pepper. Pour milk over mixture until it covers the macaroni and about 1/2 inch above macaroni. Stir. Cook on high for 4 hours. Stir about half way through cooking time.

I would have liked it to be a little more cheesier but that's me. Ours cooked for four hours but sat on warm for another two hours.

I really was surprised on how good it was and so easy. Living in the south in the heat , it also did not heat up the house.

I have had three helpings so far...well not big helpings....ummmh, shh! maybe they were, Just dont tell!

I love my church kids

I have posted so much about my family drama that I wanted to tell you that I LOVE MY CHURCH KIDS!

I love the first Sunday of the month because that is the Sunday that the bigger kids stay upstairs for communion and I am solely in charge of the younger ones during church.

I have already taught most of them Sunday School in the formal setting but in children's church time I am a little more relaxed and fun.

Usually we go up to big service for the worship part of church and come down for preaching but today the schedule was off balance and they would have had to sit through a long prayer time and communion time. I know their limits. I know their limits on the 4th of July too.

Today we pulled out our movement DVD of Kingdom of the Son. They love it. I let them hop, dance, conga line, everything in praise. I mean they love it.

I used this time to get their craft started. I then brought them over for their craft time which was a patriotic streamer activity. I turned the DVD back on and played the ones they requested while waving their banners. It was awesome.

We had a Popsicle snack time. We don't usually have snack time during children's church but it was a holiday and I like to bend the rules.

A deacon brought me communion . I stopped and explained communion to them. I then prayed and partook of it myself. They were very eager to learn why I can take communion and we talked about salvation.

We then colored a patriotic picture of the lion and the lamb. I explained that to them too. Our Sunday School lesson was on the lion's den so it was a perfect blend.

Then we played a marble game I found online based on David and Goliath. They get so excited over this simple marble game. Plus we covered this story last week.

We prayed.

We listened to more of their DVD and did the movements until the grandparents came... yep all my kids are brought by their grandparents or by me...my nephew whose parents to come sometimes.

It was a great Sunday at church... Not all Sundays are, I work with another worker who is a stickler for rules and very hard on the kids. One of these days, I am going to blurt out.... JUST CHILL!
