Really! Did you really say that to a person whose biggest blessing in their life is adopted? Did you really tell me that your daughter and husband have crossed out adoption stating it is God's will they have a child of their own? Really, a " a child of their own". You are mighty glad I held my mouth in church.
Why don't you ask your daughter if it is God's will that they help a child in need who needs a mother and father? My family is the living proof that love is not blood. He is ours. He is who God gave us to love. Let me repeat HE IS OURS, blood or no blood. God chose our family to love him and we do. Thank You God!
My response was.... Well, it could be in God's will for them to adopt a child which would be "their child".
How can you be so closed minded ? Think about it, a child that God has given you whether through your body in childbirth or through adoption is "your child".God knows what he is doing. He placed that child with us over so many other families he could have went to. God blessed us.
Keeping that mindset could block one of the most beautiful blessings God can give you.
One more thing.... I am also a woman who may never have biologically have a child and am looking forward to the day that I am blessed enough to adopt MY OWN CHILD!
I know I am sensitive to adoption and if you have never experienced adoption, you don't understand but if you read my blog....OPEN YOUR MIND!

Observing....
This evening my nephew came over and was visiting at my house. He was on the computer playing games and I was observing him. He is such an awesome child. He has his days, he has his weeks but he is still awesome.
I was thinking of the life he may have had if he was not placed in this family. The thought that he would be with a no-good mother went through my mind. She has three other children that she does not have custody. Then I thought that it was mean of me to think of her being no-good. She was a good mother. She knew she could not care for him and gave him away to a family that could. In my mind, that is the way it is. I don't want to hear other wise. I don't want to ever hear that the real reason she gave him up was because she was all about her. Well, even if she was she knew with that attitude she couldn't raise him and still did the most awesome thing she could have done. She gave up her own flesh and blood to someone who could give him what she couldn't even if it is no more than she couldn't give love. She showed more love by letting him go to a home that loves him beyond your imagination.
On our drive back to his home , I told him that I love him. He said I love you. I said I love you more. This went on for awhile and he finally won the game by saying he loves me more 80 times. That is a lot of love. I did tell him that I loved him 100 times more. He said that is a lot of love. I said , Yes it is. I am so grateful for that love.
Thank You God for my nephew. I know I post a lot on adoption but it is the most awesome gift I have been given so far , my nephew. I hope to get stable and pursue adopting a child of my own one day.

Adoption Truths....
If you read my blog enough , you know I am an adoption advocate. You also know my sweet nephew is adopted. He was brought into our family at three months old. His biological mother gave him up at birth. His biological father would not come sign the papers because he did not want to acknowledge the birth. The adoption agency convinced him he had to for the baby to be placed. He did this after three months. See it was an affair and he finally convinced himself for it to go away he needed to do this. I thank them everyday even though they do not know it. We were given a great gift.
Well "little man" has become quite inquisitive about pregnancy lately. The subject did not come up and we did not talk about adoption or pregnancy. He told me awhile ago that he knows he came from another woman's belly. I asked my sister if they had talked about it and she said no and was puzzled. Today we were having lunch after church at a steakhouse. A pregnant woman walked by and "little man" told everyone she had a baby in her tummy. Then he asked his mommy if he had been in her belly before he was born. She told him that he was not in her belly but in another woman's belly. That woman loved him but could not care for him so she gave him to mommy and daddy. He asked why. She explained that the woman knew they wanted a baby boy and could love and care for him. He looked at her just as serious. We were all thinking, what is he thinking and what is he going to say next. The next thing he did was put his hand over his mouth, we all gasped not knowing what he was thinking. He then blurted out....."Mommy your breath stinks."
She had been eating sauteed mushrooms and garlic. He then walked over to his daddy and hugged him and said, " Her breath is real bad, daddy. " Well my sister and I chuckled it off but I had to go to the bathroom so that I could really laugh.
Oh, to get in the brain of this 6 year old .
